.., is something I almost ashamedly have direct knowledge of. Not that I did not like the results, it's just that it looked so bizarre... But, if you're intent on trying this, I would not suspend the platform by three cords. I would use four cords - one from each corner of a rectangular platform, and spreading outward from the center of the platform so that all four cords are under as close to equal tension as possible. You can accomplish this fairly easily by measuring the dimensions of the platform (which should be slightly larger than the component) and then tracing out an proportional rectangle (about 30% larger than the platform size) on the ceiling above. Thread your cords (with knots tied at the ends for stops) through holes in the corners of the platform to the hooks that correspond to the rectangle corners on the ceiling. I recommend nylon cord. Finally, adjust the level of the platform by shortening or lengthening the individual cords as needed until it "floats" perfectly flat. The outward splay of the cords will prevent most horizontal movement. You may have to compensate for cord stretch in a few days by adjusting the knot levels below the platform. Concerning the effects of resonances in the cords themselves, I opine that whatever vibration they will transmit is not likely to be worse than those transmitted by standard racks, and in fact the isolation provided from harmful resonances is far greater overall with the suspended platform. Floors can be terrible places to "anchor" components onto. Even though ceilings are not perfect places either, at least they are not (typically) as directly coupled the ringing of a metal component rack or the pulsations of woofer drivers, in the average room. Good luck, and be strong.
