I would think not if you're using PVC tubing. But, if you're using cardboard tubes (used for poster containers, delivery cylinders, fabrics and carpets centers, tissue rolls, and speaker ports) it may change the sound depending on density. As some people wrap Dynamat around their cardboard speaker ports...They may have a Patent on the design (shape and form) itself...
