My guess is that any attempt to time align using a passive or active system other than steping the enclosure will result in a severve phase discontinuity over the audio band between the drivers ranges. It is really damn hard to implement the sort of fix you are sugesting in the analog domain. As I recall Malcom Omar Hawskford had some students at the University of Essex working on a digital cross-over that could time align drivers. It is a remedial task to provide delay in the digital domain, whereas in the analog domain it requires the use of energy storage devices, capacitors or inductors, which affect other aspects of the signal in undesirable ways. Both Thiel and Dunlavy have used extensive research (read: BIG money) to arrive at designs that are time-aligned. I suggest that you abandon your quest altogether. You have undertaken an enormous challenge that requires iterative construction and precise measurement to solve.
