Here's on that costs about $2 and has yet to not work. Buy a tube of di-electric "Tune-up" grease from an auto parts store. Put a smidge on all ac contacts; plugs, fuses, etc. Not signal contacts; interconnects and speakers!!
Results are a smoother quieter sound as any potential sparks/arcing (heard as noise) between contact surfaces is severly minimized. If you don't like it, it is easy to remove. Does not appear to cause any degradation or garbage to appear on metal surfaces. I have used this for many years and have turned others on to this who are quite happy with the results. And they are not ones to be happy very easily !
