Allan:Please pardon my oversight. Unfortunately, I do not know of an inexpensive stepped attenuator. To make if more affordable, I'd just change the pots that you actually adjust (perhaps skipping the damping control). Also, keep in mind that you have to watch that the attenuator is not too deep. Otherwise, I can't help.
