Component inputs the bomb

24.218.161.43

I had a new look at the service manual for my 9 year old Mitsubishi 3503 TV. It has S-video which bypasses much circuitry (and coupling caps) that the composite and tuner signal has to go through. However, it still has to be processed in order to get R, G, and B - component video! Adding the circuitry to my old TV is a stretch for me and I have plenty of other projects to keep me busy, but I'll look into it some more. In any case, my next TV WILL have component inputs, and probably 680p. In the mean time, There is plenty of power supply enhancement and coupling cap improvements to do on that TV (like any).

.22uf is an excellent bypass value for a film cap. The smaller ones usually have too high an ESR to do any good, and larger ones are hard to fit.
