Re: Mods for TV? Better vid, component input?

Maybe you missed the posting where I said I had also moded my big screen TV. I started with my VCR however. It had a noisy tuner so I got into it and found the voltages goingh into the tuner. They were +5, +9, +12 and +30 volts. I simply added a lager cap across each of these. I had a bunch of 15000uF caps, so I used them soldering them in as close as I could to the tuner. It got much better! So good that now the TV tuner looked noisy. I did the same thing again inside the TV. I worked from the top of the PCB so I didn't have to do any more than take the back off. My voltmeter told me where the voltages were close to the tuner. I also found one IC on a plug in board that does all the input switching, S-video and cable and the like. I did its caps too. Them I got a F to RCA adapter for the cable and pluged it right into the TV tuner. It was all so easy! Now the video look great!!! In fact I've had folks come in and be talking but stop to tell me how good my TV looks. I don't even point it out and they say something about it. Like I said it was all too easy. Good Luck, bobwire
