Adding capacitance to PS / How much if any?

63.224.2.131

I'm looking to improve the PS of a Toshiba DVD player and would appreciate any suggestions. In particular, I'm looking at the main filter cap, which is 100uf 200V, and then the next four caps, which are 820uf 16V.

I gather that adding larger caps needs to be done with care since it can stress the transformer and or PS upstream. What I am wondering is what I can safely do. (For instance, Bobwire was speaking of adding 1000uf caps all over the Samsung 709)

At minimum, I'll add a bypass to the main cap, and am thinking of replacing the 820uf with same value Panasonic HFQs. (I'll also replace the rectifier diodes with HEXFREDS.) But could I up the values of either of these safely (say, the 820uf to 1000-1200uf)? Or the 100uf to 150uf (assuming that the Panasonic EB series is any good here)?

Many thanks,
