For a anti-resonant base under my Rega Planer 25, I've had some favorable results with sandwiches of a construction material called Wonderboard. It's a prefab 1/2" concrete board strengthened with integrated nylon webbing. It's more dead to the tap than any marble, granite, or cast concrete. It's also fairly lightweight and $8.99 for a large sheet at Home Depot. Right now, I'm using two sheets seperated by a sheet of carpet pad (the composite kind with small pieces of shredded foam rubber of varied sizes, colors, and densities) with the whole sandwich resting on Vibrapods. I want to try a deflated inner tube.Warning: the stuff is flexible if you use too large a piece.
It's ugly as hell, but you can paint it and dress the edges. It's a nice cheap solution.
