Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Fried was kind of a...

stuffed shirt. His sense of self-importance was way too high. Had i been the owner of a store that sold his products, I wouldn't have let him in the store when customers were there.

At Jim Hollander's (his LA distributor) apartment, they were demoing the speakers and he wouldn't play anything but obscure and uninteresting music, even when requested. Fortunately, a friend already had Monitor III (improved) speakers, and we already knew what the speakers were capable of.

It rather put a damper on the occasion. As I stated before, he was a marketing genius who brought in amazing products including the Decca Ribbon tweeters among many others.
