Using Herb Reichert's Stereophile review of the Klipsch RP-600 speaker as impetus, I purchased and installed a Klipsch RP-440C center channel speaker, driven by an Immotiva PA-1 Class D amplifier. So far, I find the speaker quite neutral and the combination both listenable and not "clinical." At the same time, I am enjoying A renewed ability to detect performance details I may have missed in the past. This morning's disk: an SACD of the Brahms and Tschaikovsky Violin Concerti performed by Jascha Heifetz with the Chincago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Fritz Reiner. I am grateful to Herb for his review of good (reasonably priced) equipment worthy of serious consideration.
