The best-sounding LS3/5A speaker to me is

The current Stirling Broadcast model. It is also the least expensive. In my ears and brain, it is a clear winner. I have a small room that is a very strange shape. This is the only speaker I can really to get to image well and it doesn't matter where i ma standing because the off-axis dispersion is so good.

Do they sound good. I use them with both a 50W SS integrated and a 65 W PP tube amp. and they do. I have also driven them with the triode section of a Manley Stingray at around 25 W. They have a very smooth impedance curve compared to the originals, but are still high impedance.

The bass performance is surprizingly good, but i don't listen to much bass.

The other speakers I have are Quad 12L, and I am also very fond of them. They are richer with more bass, but still very accurate and a great buy.
