... when not one audiophile has ever proven to witnesses he can hear differences among wires when the brand names are hidden and they play music at the same volumes?I hate to answer your question with another question, but I have no idea why so many audiophiles believe (and do) many things!
In over 40 years of buying and building speakers I have never heard any that sounded bad at first, and then after 20 or 40 or 100 hours of use, had accomplished a complete character change!
I have heard bass drivers that had weaker than expected bass when brand new, but 10 minutes of loud rap music that stroked the drivers a large percentage of their XMAX easily fixes that problem.
