I was going through the 80's stuff tonight and had forgotten her album 'South' so I spinned it after many years. Great social commentary and music in a digital late 80's early 90's mix from down under the southern cross. 'Soviet Snow' is such a chilling statement about the Chernobyl nuclear accident. There was a time when so much rock music was motivated by social commentary. Apart from the usual old suspects, where is the latest generation of artists using their soap box to promote enlightment among their own generation? I sometimes fear we have entered into the latest realm of bread and circuses. We now have Brittney and Paris to emulate.
