Malro from Huatla (later murdered by Federales) brought me mushrooms
from March to October when I lived in Mexico. My favorites were the
'derumbes' (means 'avalanche'). He insisted that when mushrooms
became phenomenological it was the lightning from the storms that
brought the rain, like as lightning in the mushrooms. He also
convinced me that the best mushrooms came during the full moon and
the most rewarding mushroom experiences came during the early waning
of the moon. His entire family, including the youngest children, ate
mushrooms together every month they were available. I once asked him
what they did when they all ate mushrooms together and he replied,
"we sing, we dance, and we ask Jesus for money." Regards,J.R.
