Seen him several times

big guy...er...compared to me...Terrific base player. Another stone cold great stand up bassist is Trevor Hutchinson who mostly plays with Sharon Shannon and Lunasa.
My story: Sharon came to America to play at an Irish fest in SF in 1991. She is from County Clare in Ireland. A hot bed of creativity. After a jaw dropping performance I asked her to sign my LP that was her first release.
She did and we talked...she was very shy and when playing would shoegaze...I told her the last time I saw a shoe gazer he was a guitar player and he became famous after his confidence built...His name, Sharon I said... was Jimi Hendrix...
This was ..of course...total bullshit...Hendrix never even owned shoes...but I was smitten, smote...whatever....her later publicity and covers said she was the Jimi Hendrix of her instrument (she is). A few years later I saw her again and asked about that....she said it was me....!!
God was she hot!!
Great music and her stuff with Mike Scott is hot as well.
