Only a minute & 50 seconds but Tom Waits story of "Frank's Wild Years" on Swordfishtrombones tells a great story; also Joe Ely, "The Road Goes on Forever" from the Love & Danger CD and Tony Joe White's "High Sheriff of Calhoun Parish" amoungst others. There are thousands but these are some of my faves. I have at least 8 CDs worth of story-songs compiled along with some spoken-word / poetry stuff and like to listen to them in shuffle play mode.
