Simultaneously, Ryko released Big Star's "Live" CD in 1992 which you should already know. Recorded live on a Long Island radio broadcast in 1974, Chilton's cover version of Loudon Wainwright's "Motel Blues" on the set alone is worth the admission of the CD.

It remains one of my favourite Chilton's solo efforts todate. Comparing this with his later stuff, they are somewhat disappointing; sounding invariably disjointed and half-baked IMHO. For this reason, I feel Chris Bell would potentially have been the superior songwriter of the 2 if he had survived.
