Harmonia - You're right, I never did respond. Yes, the Strawbs remasters are superb. "Grave New World", "Bursting At The Seams" and
"Hero And Heroin" are extremely well mastered. But a better value bet is to buy the 2 CD "Halcyon Days" compilation a or "A Choice Selection of Strawbs" for a single CD comp.
Your points are well made. However, you didn't comment on my buddy (who's far from alone) only having rave-reviewed RS stuff in his collection. To take it a step further, he wouldn't even buy 2 or 3 by a band - only the one that RS gave the ***** or **** review to.
My strong belief is that if you like a group a lot, then you (tend) to by all or many of their releases. By the same token, if one hears "All The Young Dudes" or "Virginia Plain" or "Love Is The Drug" and like it, you buy the darn LP. Unless, that is, your purchases are determined by the power of a magazine which wielded too much power. Only my opinion (and look st the "Special Edition Collector's Item" Polling Stone)......roxymott
