I had forgotten about the Mermaid Ave disks when I was typing my post early this morning. I own and love the first one but haven't purchased Vol II yet.
A friend of a friend attended Doc Pomus' funeral. They were quite struck by Dr John's lady companion who apparently was, uh, quite statuesque and wearing a more or less transparent black dress with little in the way of underwear. I don't know if Doc Pomus would have approved (I suspect he probably would have) but it certainly meets the dress code for my funeral when it comes.
Aside from the Hal Willner projects and 'Mermaid Ave' I own 'The Bridge' a Neil Young tribute (just okay) and 'Where the Pyramid Meets the Eye' a Roky Erikson tribute.
