I have no problem with either, although I haven't heard all that much Radiohead & Oasis strikes me as a singles band. But I'd take the White Stripes over either in a heartbeat. And this probably doesn't play into whatever thought process you used to pick those two, but I say Beck & Nick Cave wipe 'em all over the past decade.The argument about obscure bands does hold some water, at least relative to years past, and I'm a little surprised that nobody took that bait. But that's a whole thread unto itself. 'Toiling in relative obscurity' and 'good' become mutually exclusive for me by the end of the 1980s, for the most part; if I thought hard enough I might come up with an exception or two, but who cares.
