That would have been the early-to-mid 1980s. At the time, since we were in junior high, we only went to rock concerts, if/when our parents took us. And even then, my friends did not go to Keystone. If anything, the only Berkeley venue we were taken to was the Greek Theater. Not even the Berkeley Community Theater.
When we got to high school in the late-80s, we'd peruse the SF Chronicle's "Pink Section," for concert listings. There were myriad venues in S.F., so we simply went to those.
Apparently, the Keystone Berkeley was between Shattuck and Walnut. It would have been next to where Teaspoon is now. But we (many of my friends, including my wife, went to UC Berkeley) love going to U:Dessert Story, which is on Shattuck and Hearst.
