Politics, poverty, and power was just about ALL we knew about in the late 60's through mid 70's in high school.

Between the race riots, Vietnam war draft, protests, and combat on the nightly news, Arab oil embargo, civil rights movement, etc., etc., etc. it seemed like only a very insignificant part of our lives was algebra.

Not sure which generation had the better deal...
