35 years ago, a few publications praised Tracy Chapman's debut eponymous album. Critics pointed out the socially-aware "Talkin' 'Bout A Revolution." Since we were in high school, we didn't know about politics, poverty, and power. But "Talkin' 'Bout A Revolution" pointed us in a mature, adult direction. We took longer and deeper looks at artwork around S.F.
At the time, I was an audiophile, but was not yet into the "high-end audio." As high school kids, we had no money for a Discman, let alone high-end audio. Nevertheless, when we went to San Francisco Stereo Plus, some guy was auditioning a system back-ended with B&W loudspeakers, and was listening to Chapman's "Talkin' 'Bout A Revolution." He seemed satisfied, and ordered something, though probably not loudspeakers.
