35 years ago, we were all in high school. Sometimes, without any heads-up, we'd drop by at friends' homes. That's right, we'd just buzz, and see if so-and-so were home. Because my new friends were girls, when they'd buzz, my parents were apoplectic, concerned, and excited. My parents would compare them to past guys, who would raid the fridge, and pee all over the toilet.
One time, a couple of girls were over, and VH1 aired Toni Childs' "Walk And Talk Like Angels." I don't know; the two girls and I just felt a little more mature, a little more adult.
We decided to take the 38 Geary out to Ocean Beach (above). In those days. We tended to visit the stretch from Golden Gate Park to the Cliff House.
In the mid-90s, I was back home in S.F. My friends were finishing up college. We would actually use Toni Childs' "Walk And Talk Like Angels" as an audiophile reference. Thus, if you walked into Ultimate Sound, and overheard "Walk And Talk Like Angels," chances are, I was there.
My friends liked "Walk And Talk Like Angels," and thought it should have been a bigger adult contemporary hit. This time, because some of my friends lived in the Sunset District, we hit parts of Ocean Beach south of Golden Gate Park.
