These "guilty pleasures" and "exceptions" are, in fact, the real thing! AK is one of a handful of great country/bluegrass artists working today and should be held as a prime example of what that genre is all about. The crap they play on to 40 county radio has NOTHING TO DO WITH REAL COUNTRY MUSIC!!! Every commercialized genre has it's true practitioners--who often work in the shadows while the pale immitators get the attention of the masses because the masses wouldn't know good music if it knocked them over in the street.OK, call me an elitist now. To me it's just good music.
