In the most general terms that I might share with others, I've got personal/musical projects that involve working with several friends scattered about Europe, mostly. At the same time, I wanted to live at a "place on Earth" that offered me a different general atmosphere and inspiration than I gain from more highly populated and developed parts of continental Europe. Travel between here and these other places is easy enough from here.

Iceland, in some ways like Alaska, offers me a sense of "grand and open nature" that always inspires me, and allows me to breathe more freely.

I also have friends here--both native to this land and imports--who would like to work with me on particular projects (a dear friend and filmmaker is making a film of my life, for instance, and wants to do it here).

While all the above is already plenty reason enough for me to be here now, there's also the political that cannot be entirely ignored. This can be a touchy subject for some, and for the most part, I have little interest in endless discussion, and greater interest in positive action at this point. Let's leave it at that. :)

I hope this gives you at least a bit of insight into my "motives". :)
