The article is 2 years old, and it wasn't really news then.
Many pop stars, especially Taylor Swift, sell at least 3 or 4 vinyl versions of every album. Same music but different cover art and different colored vinyl. Many (most?) Swifties buy all of them. That adds up quickly.
