NYPO even stopped if you buy 3 concert tickets you get a 4th free. NY hockey and basketball tickets charge about the same but there is real demand. Even Broadway is cheaper.
Heard the Bournemoth in 1971. Not shabby at all.
I can only conjecture there must be lots of corporate client demand
The Shostakovich 5 is less than 50 minute symphony with nothing else on the program. It is a great symphony. They offer an early and late supper. A sandwich wrap is 16$...Wine 15$ a glass. A full meal $75.
The great art collectors do not donate paintings to them or even the Met Opera. A real pity. They get big tax deductions from the Met Museum.
