Top Orchestra Ticket Prices

"In the spirit of new exploitation theory during economic tariff ....chaos and their inability to get their costs down with 'burdensome union contracts'"

When you have 85-110 excellent musicians, and the associated support staff, and the very small (relatively speaking) venue capacity, and the facility cost, the product price will necessarily be high.

On the other hand, all professional orchestras have private and corporate sponsors, so, that should offset part of the ticket cost. So I generally agree that top orchestra ticket prices are beyond the reach of many people. On the other hand, "pop music" "stars" like Beyonce, Swift, etc. perform in very large venues seating 10,000+ people, and their ticket prices are just as high or higher. We went to a Andrea Bocelli concert, and the ticket price for our seats was $350 each (plus a parking fee), and that was in a sports arena which seats about 15,000 people (AA Center in Dallas). 'Course, he also had a full orchestra and chorus. (Fortunately, the tickets were given to us by a company owner, who got them from another...)

Anyway,...

I fail to see how this has anything to do with tariffs. I agree that some unions have let their power go to their heads, but I don't think they're the problem with regard to orchestras. I suspect that you've just got a burr under your saddle about something.
