and it's fine for a cheap cdp and sounds equal to slightly less smooth than the old Sony CD changer I own. It's better a bit in the bass.However, for that price, you could get a used Pioneer universal or even a new entry level 588 or latest or try Samsung 841 or newer.
A simple trick is go to ReferenceAudioMods.com and see what they use as base to mod. Then do your own research on those models.
