After a careful survey of the moderate price DAC market I took a listen to the Channel Islands Audio VDA.2 and the Musical Fidelity Xray DAC V3. I really felt the Channel Islands was quite smooth and clean in presentation without being too crisp or edgy. You can test drive the Channel Islands piece and return for a restock fee for not much risk, it's just $599. Nope, not affiliated, just a pleasantly suprised customer. Larry
