I bought my first unit in December of '05. It had problems reading the gaps between the tracks on particular CDs (wouldn't change the number), and once in a while it would freeze. The transport was very noisy too. After a month I got a cracking sound from the right channel which was an indication of a bad tube. They very quickly replaced the unit. The second one had a quiet transport, but the problem with reading the gaps remained, and it also had a bad tube. Until June it froze just once, and I got rid of it in July. I'm talking about the mk3 version. The sound was nice, though.
