I have one Sony M555 connected directly to the Esoteric DAC via toslink. That same changer has its analog outputs feeding a Mac C200 preamp (Hero RCA). The DAC is connected to the C200 via balanced XLR (Purist Aqueous). I compared the Sony transport+Eso DAC to the Sony transport+integral DAC. No difference. Are you suggesting that the Purist XLR IC is masking the benefit of the Eso DAC?
