Yes, the CD will sound much better being read from the hard drive. I would not want to use a cheap computer CD drive to listen to my audio in real time. I guess I didn't understand what you you were getting at before Ted. As for reading the ripped CD from the hard drive, I can listen to music while my wife goes on the internet, etc. It all depends on your computer's resources. The sucess of the computer play back depends on the use of the hard drive; not the CD drive.
