Tara Labs RSC Vector 2 ICs from AliExpress

Reading all the posts about Chinese cables got me curious. I wanted to find something to go between my CD/SACD player and my receiver to replace a set of Zu Wylde interconnects that I just never warmed up to. No matter what system I tried them in the Wyldes always sounded bright and edgy.

I was planning to go for the Nordost Valhalla ICs everyone was talking about, but then I came across these Tara Labs RSC Vector 2s. I liked the look and the price, and having never tried Tara Labs cables I decided to roll the dice that these might be legit.

They arrived a couple of days ago and I gotta say, if these are fakes the seller went to an awful lot of trouble to keep the illusion going. The cables came in a Tara Labs box, with all the paperwork. Fit and finish are excellent, down to the locking RCA connectors.

I know they need a good amount of burn-in, but even after a couple of days these cables sound superb, easily besting the Zu Wyldes they're replacing. Bass is more authoritative, the soundstage is wider, mids are sweet and detailed, high are extended without being harsh. Transients are excellent, there's just a wonderful sense of space around the instruments. These are extraordinarily musical cables. Not bad for 33 clams shipped.
