As I've stated much earlier on, I became curious about these cables | power cords after having purchased a usb cable..., and knew within 2-3 tracks, I was hearing something totally unique as compared to my previous owned usb cables upwards of $945, as I've never felt the need to spend more based upon designer tags ( labeling if you'll ) yet much like Tomasz ( thetubeguy 1954 ) I own nearly a $29.000 system between the 3 integrated amps | 3 pairs of mini-monitors I've overtime narrowed it down to, and have in fact been exposed to systems between $78-93k, where the cabling loom itself was worth $23k, so can assure you ( or any of you ) if nothing else I've an ear for truth of timbre | tonality | accuracy above all else.
Being exposed to music reproduction from the age of 6, sitting there beside my Dad, whom had a very very extensive acoustic jazz vinyl collection, and since the ages of 21-37, have attended more than 40 live venues, be it jazz or classical based concerts, and used to be the primary hardware buyer for a chain of audio shops here in Michigan back in the day, where the owners of the shops were thoughtful enough to send me to many of the overseas factories and audio shows, wat before they became the norm stateside...., so once again I've more of less learned to trust my ears | heart | senses as I gauge based upon my purely emotional responses to how | what I hear of late.
I'm not one easily swayed by sound effects, like how explosive a canon is, or rumbling of a train coming down the tracks, nor measurements, and none of these have anything to do with music being rendered in a more organic | uplifting manner. And while admittedly I've been rather reluctant to remove my primary pure silver IC's or SCs, I've ended up buying 11 of said Chinese Odin takes on these cables to date, merely because I'm very very aware of what's possible, having owned IC's upwards of $1.600 | SCs upwards of $2.750 | several $1.300 PCs, and currently knowing that on " Mi-Fi " each were readily replaced within one day by cables costing much much less, as a rule of thumb, my main 2-3 pairs of SCs are currently all under the cost of $400, as I've come to believe fuck what country said cables were originally made, and have learned to focus my attention on how they might've been implemented voicing wise, as the thread for years as it's known Americans are more about a fuller | weightier sonic presentation, whereas the Germans strive for neutrality which most Americans take as bright, or analytical, when in fact it's closer to merely being honest about the quality of the recording quality more than anything else, while the Asian cultures are more like the British | Canadians which are more fond of everything within the midrange being the key component or attraction.
Yet as I've often told visitors in the past, take the central location on our sofa, tune out the entire background while listening to our system, focus on say the pianist or bassist, within 20-30 seconds, I believe they've picked upon something I've known for years..., it's when our attention is drawn into say one instrument at a time, the other supporting cast began to be heard as underpinning said lead instruments, and a sense of unisons arrives right before one's ears, bass notes aren't pounding one's chest, yet if done correctly?, become more and more as if being released within a bubble or envelope placed to the extreme rear most part of the sound field, where the plucking of notes are more like a slightly rumbling of a smoke stream as if entering underneath one's doorframe as much like fog | one can clearly begin to hear each frequency response as if separated in time, or should I say " I'm able to very clearly distinguish what's going on from the treble | midband | lower bass notes ", weird you or some would say, yet I've learned not to merely listen critically to the components, but have found myself connecting to the musical passages or how more importantly, " only listening to the artist ", not making comments on how the treble sounds open or closed in | saying the midrange doesn't sound as free as it should | or does it sound as if the bass notes actually reach downwards of 45-35hZ?, once again some tend to focus on frequency response and have simply forgotten these things weren't important to recordings or customer during the 20s | 30s | 40s |50s, when the playback was of limited bandwidth, not at all, when I often listen to recordings of old movies, like my wife's favorite " The Wizard Of Oz ", all I hear is very very wonderfully played in time orchestrated music.
Think about it for a moment, maybe, just maybe you'll understand what I'm trying to get at?, if not?, just overlook another one of my long-winded rants.
Be well | Stay safe.
