First I used Oyaide Tunami GPX (red plugs) with my tube amp, the difference from my previous chord was small - according to the amp manufacturer, it is because of how the amp is made (current purifying solutions). Then I used the GPX on my source (Metronome) and here the difference was huge! And for the better too! A lot of "meat", heavy but somewhat thumping bass, excellent midrange (but a little dry, too), pleasant upper range, no harshness, detail, but on the smooth side. If you like rock, for example, a bit too much of the good thing. The Tunami GPX-R is a different story: all the weakbesses of the GPX are eliminated and thre's improved soundstage, cultured sound, it's like you are drinking the same wine but before it was out of mug and now it's a Venetian glass. Hard to explain, but the instruments sound like more like the real thing, there's detail but there's also sheer beauty... I've heard the GPX-r than the GPX is more revealing, so it's up to the system. If there are serious faults on the part of the system, the chord will not rectify that... Please remember the reviewed products are the oriiginal versions of the chords (not V2).

Product Weakness:	Not sure, haven't heard MUCH more expensive options
Product Strengths:	excellent value, excellent soundstage, smooth sound, good for people who liesten to music to find pleasure, refinement, relaxation
