Forgot to mention that when set to 33 1/3, there is a fair amount of vibration on the belt too ...

I have had the pulley become loose on the motor shaft.Grab it while it is spinning and check if the motor stops or if the shaft keeps spinning while you have the pulley stopped.
If it is loose, remove the pulley and apply a drop of superglue.

I don't know about the super glue, I'd do a little research before I did that. If it's a press fit it may just need to be pushed down. I'd check with a dealer or Rega direct.

Hmmm ... I'm sure I replied to this ...Anyway ...
It's not the pulley, as holding it does stop the motor. I grabbed a new belt from a nearby hifi store, and the deck does spin properly now.
However, everynow and then, the speed changes, and I noticed that on startup, the motor wobbles quite a bit, and shortly thereafter, would wobble a bit every now and then.
It doesn't do this at 45 rpm, but I assume this is due to it using the lower point on the pulley.

have a look at how the motor is secured. is it haging from a .. rubber band? maybe you will need to affix the motor to the plinth in a better way THAN REGA DID!. sorry.
