Except for the later 290/292 all altec magnet structures will take the same diaphragms. The later 290/292 had a different bolt circle and the dowel pins are different too. The very early models have to be returned to have a piece removed from under the top plate, or you can shim up the diaphragm with a couple of sheets of paper or masking tape. Of course only the later ones with the big alnico or ferrite magnets have any real high end, but they still make nice music up to 12Khz or so.

thanks DJK - they're alnico - magnet structure is 3.25" deep by about 6.5" diameter - one says 'Altec Lansing' - other 'Altec Lansing Corporation' both in stamped letters on covers - have 6 Allen-head screws holding covers - came from 'MC' - seem fine (he does things right including packing) - rope gasket on one rear cover - considering Cannon Ti -if can find 805 horn or equivalent - unless 203B sounds good that way?
If you can find a mate, I've got 805 and 1005 singles.
well DJK - just missed 805 auction pair as 'pooter went unstable - mono is good - w. 2 channel get to listen twice - L then R or vice-versa
