I found this EXACT HH Scott Turntable (Model #PS-78) at a thrift store for $9.99. Even the pricetag said: "old record player - ELECTRIC $9.99".Long story short, bought it, took it home and hooked it into my existing stereo system just to see if it worked.
PLAYED BEAUTIFULLY! Great sound, tracking, from a used DENON DL-160 cartridge. In fact, I played and enjoyed this Scott turntable for about a week.
Now it proudly serves as my immediate "backup turntable" in case I have to have maintenence ect. done on my main turntable. You should always have a backup rig, many vinyl junkies here will begin to get the cold sweats, chills, ect. if you can't enjoy a LP spin after a busy work day, a day off, due to having your main turntable "down".
Turntable bargains are out there. Glad to know you are into this great format and fun hobby.
