ikea kallax stacking project (photos)

I am moving to a new place and am in the process of buiding/stcking new kallax sheving. I am using two 4X2's and a 2X2 as a base, with two 5X5 units on top. Unfortunately the widths are slightly different (larger) , due to the extra vertical parts on the lower middle shelf, but it only works out to 1 inch on each side. I toe-nailed all the shelves together with 2" screws, top to bottom and side to side. I am using a combination of 1/8 : luaan and plywood as shearing, and the entire unit is currently very ridgid. I still have to some sharing to finish. Tomorrow I will put a sheet of heavy-duty visqueen to the back for dust. Then push it back to the wall and connect it using the supplied brackets as well as several heavy duty "L" brackets.

And just for the record, the fit and finish (quality) of the kallax shelves are below that of the expedit. The expedite itself had cheapened in quality over the years, but they resembled real wood. The new shelves look and feel cheap.
