KLH Model 6 & sand-filled steel speaker stands...

I usually hang out on the vinyl forum, but I recently purchased these steel sand-filled speaker stands for my KLH model 6 speakers and was very pleased, so I thought I'd post my impressions here. I highly recommend them. The improvement going from the previous wood stands that I had my KLH 6s on to these stands is NOT trivial, & the price is very competitive. I am NOT affiliated with the seller in any way, just a satisfied customer. I heard my friend's Harbeth 7ES3's on sand-filled steel speaker stands that he had custom built and was impressed, so when these came up on an ebay KLH search (I like to follow KLH speaker offerings) at a very reasonable price, I decided to take a chance. Very pleased. Image is rock solid; sound stage is wide and clear; there is marked improvement in detail and space, and the biggest difference is in the bass. The bass extension is just as deep but much clearer & defined, upper bass particularly. Leland Sklar's slap & slide down the bass neck on Jas Taylor's Only a Dream in Rio, from That's Why I'm Here, was new to my ears, and this is a reference record I've listened to dozens of times. Highly recommend, but as always, YMMV.
