Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

I picked up four Kenwood KL-333s today. Need some help

I walked into Rochester's new Goodwill location and found four Kenwood KL-333 for $2.99 each. I pulled off the grills and said "I can't afford to pass these up!!!"

I hooked up a pair to my Yamaha RX-496 (which usually powers my junk Sony SS-U570s.

The difference is pretty dramatic, compared to the 570s at home and the Mackie HR-824s I use at school,

First off, the high end is smooth and shows hints of being "defined." More so than the paper tweeter crap on the 570s. But... here's the bit but. Their kinda rolled off-ish sounding.

Secondly, the midrange has what you call THD. Lots of it. It's got a warm sound for sure, but I'm looking for something more defined.

I pulled the back off and found a basic crossover with a resistor, capacitor and inductor. I'm half thinking about upgrading the resistor and cap.

My questions are twofold:

-What kind of improvements could I get from a crossover upgrade? What about adding more stuffing?

-Is this speaker worth anything? Sell it on Audiogon/e-bay or take it back to Goodwill?
