Go for the early 1950's CBS-Hytron white labelled 14 mm black plate JHY-5814 tubes. These particular tubes are by far the best sounding 5814 tubes period. The mid 1950's CBS-Hytron red labelled JHY-5814A or JHY-5814WA 14 mm black plate tubes with angled bent rectangular getters are also excellent. Reference photos of the two different types are attached. Make sure you get the version with the angular bent rectangular getters as pictured. The internal construction of the getter on these tubes was phased out around 1955 and replaced with a non-angled non-bent square getter. The GE 5814A tubes you have to my ears sound too analytical and lack the warmth factor. Try them out and report back with your findings. I much prefer 1950's Eindhoven and Heerlen pinched waist U-shaped and D-shaped getter E80CC tubes, respectively, for any 12AU7/ECC82/E82CC replacement. Heater current is double that of the 12AU7/ECC82/E82CC tube.
