In addition to the usual recommendations (Siemens e81cc triple mica, Valvo 6201, Telefunken ecc801s) I'd like to add the Brimar 6060 triple mica (o-getter slightly better than the square getter version) and the very early (1952) Philips CV455's made in Copenhagen (or is it Eindhoven? Some people claim that the delta factory code is Eindhoven even though all the datasheets I can find on the internet says Copenhagen...).
The Brimar has the most 3D sound stage of all the 12at7's I've tried and the Philips CV455 has the best tone. Unfortunately the Brimar is not as sweet and extended in the treble as the best (that would probably be the Valvo 6201 triple mica D-getter) and the Copenhagen tube is a bit soft around the corners - not unlike the 1959 Hereleen D-getter tubes.
