Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |

Hi all,
seeking advice as a first time valve owner. I picked up a Rogers HG-88 Mk3 amp with an existing problem that I am hoping is easily resolved. It has lost one channel - plays clearly through one channel, but just background hum and low static from the other.
WHen I first looked at the amp, the problem was intermittent, and during first sound check, the previous owner and I did get clear sound from both channels. Subsequent sound checks prior to purchase and we could only get a clear sound from the one channel.
Any clues as to where I should start to look for the answer? I purchased with my eyes (or is that ears?) open, with the hope of learning something about valves along the way, so any advice is appreciated - it looks like a nice unit that is too good just to throw away.
Also, any advice on where I may be able to find a user and service manual for this unit?
Thanks, Hodgie.
