Monitor Audio Silver 6 vs. Silver RS6

Yesterday I had the opportunity to audition a pair of Monitor Audio Sliver 6 floorstanding loudspeakers. I really liked what I heard. Remarkable detail without exaggeration in the highs, great bass (particularly for their size) and a convincing soundstage without meticulous positioning or room treatments. I compared them to a pair of Totem Rainmakers, and was surprised to find that the Totems were much more forward in the high range yet were no more detailed and, though I fiddled with the positioning, the Totems did not cast nearly as convincing an image as the Monitor Audios. They actually reminded me of my Magnepans in a number of respects.

I was surprised that the Monitor Audios were not more forward. I have fairly extended hearing and the MAs were definitely not harsh in the upper range as some have experienced. I could have sat there listening for hours.

Here's my question: Has anyone heard both the 6 and the newer RS6? The specifications seem to be the same, as do the descriptions of the drivers. But the RS6 has a dual-port design, which could mean that there are differences in the crossover, and/or maybe differences in placement, driver integration, etc.

Second: My amp is a B&K Reference 4420, which is a 225wpc power amp. I'm currently using it with Magneplanar MG2.5Rs. The amplification at the dealer is Rega, so there will be some difference there too. Anyone have any experience with B&K and Monitor Audio? If it turns out to be a poor pairing, I should be able to sell the B&K and get a more appropriate amp with less power.
