Frequency Counter - turntable speed calibration

Calibrating the turntable's speed before recording LPs to digital is an important step. Last November, I asked for suggestions for a frequency counter app for PC. I promised to report the results of that search.

I use this counter from www.Techmind.org/audio, shown actual size (link below to download):

The Cardas Frequency Sweep & Burn-in Record, side 1, track 1 "Level Set", provides a 55 second 1000 Hz sine wave.

There you go: turntable speed calibration.
