Japan has slightly lower crime than Singapore but both countries are close in this regard.
However, Singapore uses caning, while Japan does not use any form of corporal punishment.
Both countries have strict criminal justice systems. Singapore's approach is more punitive and publicly visible. Japan's system leans more towards discretion and rehabilitation.
Makes you go Hmmm?
You can park your unlocked bike pretty much anywhere in Japan and not worry that it will be stolen.
